South Shields Football club

This was a 92KW solar PV system consisting of 228 solar panels and a 100KW inverter. That’s enough energy to meet South Shields’ day-to-day needs, all at a return-on-investment period of less than four years.Not all installations are straightforward and there were some important design specifications we spotted during the initial site assessment. Here are just a few:

• We used a rail-less mounting system with waterproof fixings to minimise added weight to the roof.

• We installed the inverter centrally to the PV system to reduce the potential for volt drop and improve system performance.

• We used our design software to aid the G99 application to Northern Powergrid to show the system specification and layout as requested.
